UKFJB - SOCIAL NETWORKS AND WEBSITES

A MESSAGE ON BEHALF OF THE UKFJB OFFICERS AND DELEGATES

 Dear Friends

At the U.K.F.J.B Full Delegates held on the 16th October 2011 held at Glapwell Village Hall, Derby, the delegates discussed members using offensive/derogatory comments on social networks/websites and after a lengthy discussion the UKFJB delegates voted unanimously on the following decision:

Any Band Member/Committee or Trainer that puts any derogatory comments on any social networks/websites that may be found offensive/derogatory or bringing the UKFJB into disrepute will be solely dealt with within the Band before it is brought to the League/Association and then the Region. If this is not done and is brought to the UKFJB Officers attention, then they will face an automatic suspension of twelve months.

Associate Members/Judges

The above decision will also affect Associate Members/Judges and any other registered/non registered persons associated to the UKFJB Movement.

These persons will disciplined automatically by UKFJB Officers.

It was also decided that anyone connected to any Jazz band/Associate Members/Judges/ Non registered persons using any social network/websites must sign an agreement to abide by this decision, forms will be enclosed.

As per suggestion the floor also pointed out they believe we have already covered this in the Disciplinary Rules, quoted below.
